ISO 50001 Energy Management

An energy audit finds savings once. An energy management system is what stops those savings quietly reversing over the following two years as set points drift, staff change and nobody is watching the meter. ISO 50001 is the structure for doing that, and it is unusual among management system standards in that conformance is measured partly by whether energy performance actually improved. This day covers what the standard requires and how the system runs once the certificate is issued.

Neither. It is an awareness and implementation-planning programme. Organisational certification comes from an accredited certification body; individual lead auditor certificates come from separate examined courses.

Usually yes. The energy review sits at the centre of the standard and is much easier if you already have metering data and a sense of where consumption goes. Many organisations run Energy Audit Fundamentals first.

Yes, and the session covers how. The standards share a common high-level structure, so the management review, internal audit, document control and corrective action processes can serve all of them rather than running in parallel.
