Advanced Power BI and Data Modelling

This programme is for participants who already use Power BI and want to move into advanced reporting, complex data modelling, and enterprise-level deployment. It covers DAX patterns, relationships, performance, and Power BI Service governance.

Advanced DAX
Time intelligence functions, CALCULATE, ALLEXCEPT, and complex measure patterns for business calculations that go beyond simple aggregations.

Data Modelling Best Practices
Star schemas, snowflake schemas, managing relationships, and avoiding modelling mistakes that slow down reports.

Row-Level Security (RLS)
Implement dynamic and static RLS so each user sees only the data relevant to their role.

Power Query Advanced
M language basics, custom columns, query parameters, and reusable transformation steps for maintainable data pipelines.

Performance Optimisation
Identify slow reports, reduce model size, apply Vertipaq analyser insights, and optimise for fast load times.

Deployment Pipelines
Move reports through development, test, and production environments in Power BI Premium workspaces.

Dataflows and Shared Datasets
Centralise data preparation using dataflows and reuse certified datasets across multiple reports in the organisation.

Final Activity

Enterprise Report Deployment. Participants build an advanced data model with multiple tables, implement row-level security, and deploy a report through a Power BI pipeline to a shared workspace.

Yes. Any programme can be booked as a team day. Everyone works the same brief together, so your people come away having built something and knowing each other better.

If you are claiming under HRD Corp, the session has to fall at least 14 days after your HRD Corp approval. If you are not claiming, the date is flexible and we work around your calendar.

At your own office or venue, online, or at our training space in Cyberjaya. It can also be delivered entirely through our LMS as self-paced e-learning.

Put them on the self-paced e-learning instead. Your team works through the modules on our LMS in their own time, sits the assessment, and earns the same certificate, so nobody has to clear a full day together.
